The Scandinavian Charitable Society of Greater Boston created the Scandinavian Living Center to emulate the best in the Scandinavian model of assisted living for older adults. The philosophy seeks to maintain a resident's autonomy within a non-institutional setting. By promoting the development of a small community with large common spaces, much of it open to the public, those that live here feel less isolated and experience more meaningful lives.
With only forty apartments, our living center provides an intimate family-like atmosphere unusual in larger facilities. More than fifty percent of our space is dedicated to common area use that enhances the collective well-being of our community of residents, families, board members, staff, neighbors and friends.
