Who Wrote the First Five Books of the Bible with Biblical Scholar & Archeologist Nate Ramsayer

THURSDAY MARCH 12TH, 2026 AT 2:00PM IN THE NORDIC HALL

According to Jewish tradition, Moses was the author of the Torah (also known as the Pentateuch). But if this is the case, why are there so many contradictions in narrative and laws in these five books? Could one person have written this large work? Come learn how scholars make sense of the question of authorship of books like Genesis and Exodus in the Bible. Questions are welcome!

Nate Ramsayer holds an M.A. degree in Hebrew Bible and the Ancient Near East from Brandeis University.  He is also an active archeologist who has excavated seven sites around the world, focusing mainly in Israel during the Bronze and Iron Ages. This will be the first in a series of three lectures exploring the three Abrahamic religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam.  Please join for as many as you are able!
