SUNDAY MAY 31ST AT 3:00PM IN THE NORDIC HALL

Joshua Gilbert joined the Boston Conservatory at Berklee in 2022. Gilbert is currently a doctoral student in Education Policy and Program Evaluation at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He received his bachelor’s degree in music from New England Conservatory and his master’s degree in education from Harvard Graduate School of Education. Gilbert’s professional experience includes 10 years as a freelance musician and music teacher, research positions with Harvard Project Zero and Harvard’s READS Lab, a faculty position in the music education department at New England Conservatory, and curriculum design and evaluation with MindChamps preschools in Singapore. His publications have appeared in Arts Education Policy Review, AERA Open, and the Journal of Educational Psychology.

Kevin Cho, a current student at Harvard University, first began his violin journey at the age of 3. Having completed his RCM ARCT Performer’s Diploma at the age of 15, he has studied with Domagoj Ivanovic, First Prize winner of the National Violin competition and a renowned soloist previously accompanied by the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra and the Miami Symphony Orchestra. He has also worked with Nancy DiNovo, former St. Louis, Toronto, and Boston Symphony Orchestra violinist, for seven years. After visiting his music-loving grandfather who suffers from Alzheimers, he was inspired to play music for seniors and joined the Keys for Seniors volunteer group in 2017 to perform for and interact with seniors at a local senior home. Since then, he has led the Keys for Seniors and, with the emergence of COVID-19, created the Keys for Seniors website and YouTube channel platforms to still share virtual performances with the senior home. Currently, Kevin is a part of the Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra and has performed works such as Mahler’s Symphony No. 5 with Maestro Federico Cortese, previously assistant conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
